I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been a CH sufferer for 20 years -- eposodic, thank God. I'm in the early stages of a cycle right now (getting "shadows" as you all refer to them) after being headache free for 9 months. Dr. put me on Prednisone and verapamil for preventative measures. Usually I abort with cafergot suppositories, but have been put on Maxalt this time around (haven't tried it yet). I was wondering if y'all had any info about this drug to share w/ me -- effectiveness, side-effects, etc.
Anyway, I'm very happy to have found this site (hate the reason for being here, of course!) -- no one can possibly understand what I go through except all of you, and just that understanding in itself is a big comfort to me. I've also urged my wife to check this site out. I'm sure it'd be comforting for her to know that as a supporter she is not alone either. Lucky for me, she is very supportive (had to say that in case she reads this!), but the first time she saw me go through these things it really freaked her out! She's come a long way since then.
