First of all, welcome.

I've been using Maxalt for about two years now and it has helped me a great deal. I use the orally disintegrating tablets since I sometimes experience nausea with my CHs.

I put the tablet under my tongue and within 10 seconds, it dissolves. Some relief is felt in about 10 minutes, sometimes less.

One draw back with Maxalt is the amount that you can use. According to the patient information paper that comes with the med., you should not take more than 30mg. in a 24 hour period or more than 60mg. per week.

This presents a problem for me since I usually get 3 to 8 CHs a night when I am in my cycle.

The taste of Maxalt isn't great but if it provides some relief, it's worth it.

The only side effect that I have experienced is sleepiness which is great when you have lost night after night of sleep.

Ice packs and O2 also help me so you may want to give them a try.

Hope you find some useful info. here to help you.
