Claudette, I am happy for you upon hearing of your approval for disability.
Since I am no longer able to work, I am considering ( at SS's suggestion) filing for disability myself.
I was surprised at the fact the people took such an interest in me when I called to start my early retirement benefits. They questioned why I had not worked since August of 1999 when I showed nearly 40 years of employment prior to that date.
I explained about Cluster Headaches and all the problems I was having with my boss, about how my dr had told me to take FMLA on daily increments and I had that in the process when our home sold.
The sale of the home enabled us to return to Arkansas and I've been unable to get a job here.
That would seem odd in these days of 4% UE, but age and health are factors, especially for a woman. Then I also have a problem with assuring a potential employer in an interview that I will, in fact, be a dependable employee, when I know there will be times I can't make the grade.
So, I'll be seeing my neuro again next month and seeing if I can get the medical support needed.
If so, I'll be able to draw $150 per month more than I can on regular early retirement.
Your success has given me a glimmer of hope.
Thanks for sharing, and I wish you all the best.
Margaret G
