I had my gallbladder removed back in March. They started me on demerol then moved to morphine. Neither helped me to sleep and although they relaxed me neither took the pain totally away. Both of these drugs should be given in the muscle to work well from what I was told because I did have a i.v and asked why they weren't putting it in there, that is what they told me. After 4 days of shots every 3 hours my hips were a mess! LOL
Different people = different reactions.
