Lisa, I too had tried all types of meds and this topamax, it is the latest one I am tring. My cluster started 3 months ago but it took 1 month for me to convence myself they had really come back (they start real mild) then it took a month to see my nuroligest. I started on 50 mils, then went to 75, when that did no good, I went to 100 mils yesterday, and if that does no good 125 mils on friday. 2 weeks between 50 and 75, 3 days between 75 to 100 because my CH's have been 9's and 10's with relief only by O2, followed by then imitrex shots. Then, I've had to visit the ER for IV narcotics. The doc hopes raising the topamax will help. But he's not sure at this point how much. He has had some sucsess with little side affects so far. But he says he's not sure at what they could be, because everyone is different and he was told,(by the manufactuer) it has few. My helpful Doc says everytime he has been told this, he has more problems than if they say there are some. Does that make sense? Anyway, my side affect might be-head feels like its buzzing alittle, and I am shaky, and I have a hard time sleeping even though I am sooo tired, but nothing real bad and nothing that maybe can't be explained by something eles. SO, so far so good except, it has NOT helped the killers yet!!! I pray so hard it does. For you and me!! Mine too have been worse and longer than normal. Having lots of shadows during the daylight hours and 3 to 4-8,9 and 10's a night. Good Luck and God Bless. Let me know how it goes. Also, I am not very good at spelling or computers so please forgive all my mistakes. Paula
