Actually I have been extremely fortunate in having a shot of Imitrex keep me pain-free for as many as 20-24 hours, so I am not the best person to judge.
But abortives are only that - they abort an ongoing attack. I cannot see how they could cause a new one to occur.
Just my opinion though. I don't question the experiences of others. My questions concern the mechanism of CH itself and why it affects some of us differently.
