Wow. I was very touched to read all of your responses this morning. Especially after working my way through 3 attacks last night. I am heading to the neurologist today and the OB tomorrow and hoping to bounce some of the ideas you all gave me off of each. Thank you.

I'm always more comfortable taking an active part in healing and finding positives during trying times. Strangely enough, I have many positives to focus on during this recent CH period.

One, I am so close to holding this blessing from my body in my arms - it makes it very hard to feel the betrayal of my body as much this time, as it is simultaneously growing a gift. That knowledge has helped me tremendously this time. As well as having a very supportive and loving partner. I am a huge proponent of the healing power of love, tenderness and understanding.

Two, the focus away from the meds is actually a blessing for me as well. It has got me listening to a meditation tape I have found very helpful (Belleruth Naparset's : For People Coping with Headaches). If anyone needs a tool for meditation/pain management, this one has my recommendation & you should be able to order it online at one of the bookstores. It's not specific for CH, but it does include imagery for vascular headaches. It's something you want to use regularly, as I am finding that each time I listen to it, it works a bit better. It gives me something to focus on besides the pain and that calms me down a great deal. I'm also excited about the way the meditation may help me in actual labor.

Lastly, I am grateful to have found this site & for those who created and help to maintain it. Two years ago when I had my last attack, all I could find was info on migraines and I'm sure you all know how frustrating that can be.

It been a frightening 5 days, but I have been blessed with many positives to combat the fear and anger/disappointment with my body. I am grateful for the moments of relief and hope those positives bring me. Thank you for adding so generously to that effect,
Lori
