Before going for something as radical and irreversible as surgery, with all of its potentially permanently damaging side effects, why don't you look into the many threads that have been posted over the last few months regarding LSD or psilocybin mushroom therapy?

Some spectacular successes have been reported here, by such posters as Flash, Kenn, and Monique, to name a few.

It's not as scary as it sounds. The effective dose necessary to break the back of the beast is a fraction of the standard "recreational" dose... so low that there are no real "hallucinogenic" side effects involved. As a matter of fact, no side-effects to speak of, and a single dose is normally all that is required to stop the cycle for months.

Like ALL other treatments for CH, it probably won't work for everyone, but I have done a thorough search of the posts on this message board dating back to 1998, over sixty posts in total, and the success rate seems to be higher than that of any other single therapy that I have come across.

Don't dismiss the idea out of hand. This is not some off-the-wall ex-hippy type of idea. Many reputable doctors have been using this approach for quite some time, as Kenn's post of July 14 (message number 56789) titled "LSD = Miracle treatment for most" will attest. As a matter of fact, LSD was originally developed by a Swiss chemist working for Sandoz corporation by the name of Albert Hoffman, while he was searching for a more effective migraine medicine than the ergotamine compounds that existed at the time.

He was successful in his quest.

LSD is very closely related, chemically, to several of the standard migraine/cluster medications such as cafergot, dihydroergotamine, and methysergide (Sansert).

I am sure that in a city the size of Dallas there are probably several doctors (perhaps psychiatrists) who are licensed to dispense LSD for therapeutic purposes. If not, then it is certainly no big trick to find some LSD or "magic mushrooms" through the less formal distribution channels.

If you go to the search button in the top right hand corner of the page and type in LSD, shrooms, or psilocybin, you'll be able to follow all the posts regarding fellow CH victims and their experiences with this therapy.

Sorry to hear you're having such a rough time of it.
