Hi chrissy,
I can sympathize with you on this! About the time i was 22 - now 31 - the same thing happened to me - thought i either had a tumor or was going out of my mind!!! After tooooo many visits to my family doc. i finally consulted a neurologist who diagnosed these demons called cluster headaches!! i am in the middle of a cycle now and can tell you that the beast is hard to break - resolve yourself to the fact that if they are indeed clusters - dont be brave - get the necessary medications and get them fast!! I hesitated with the oxygen (was prescribed to me right from the beginning but didn't fill the scrip. - too macho or something) The oxygen has worked great so far - so long as the cluster is caught in the early stages for me at least!!

I have also started taking benadryl prior to going to bed - works sometimes! Imitrex is probably the most effective at alleviating the pain - only problem is it's a little costly! You'll soon find out, if it is indeed clusters, that cost will be imaterial so long as you're able to find something that will help with the pain!! Clusters are a very confusing unknown condition so keep an eye on the message board - there are a lot of helpful people posting a lot of good information!!

I, as well, had 2 catscans and 2 MRI's to further prove my condition was caused by clusters!! Keep in mind that the headaches aren't (i know its hard to believe because of the pain) lifethreatning! If the choice were mine to make, i would take the clusters, sorry as that is to say, over anything else i dreamt they were!

Best of luck with your catscan and be well!!
Keep us informed of your results! God Bless!!
