Sorry I haven't been on the board lately, but have been busy and have barely had time to answer my e-mail

For those of you who don't know me - I was CHRONIC for a number of years and almost to the point of the BIG SLEEP a number of times int he past. This board kept me sane most of the time. I've had surgery which was unsuccessful and now am numb on the left side and have a problem with my left eye and don't see as well as I would like to, but be that as it may, I can still be optimistic about things.

About 9 months ago, someone on this board mentioned Topamax and I called my neuro and told him I wanted to try it. Why not - I'd tried EVERYTHING else. Today, I'd leading a NORMAL life. Hell, I HAVE a life. I haven't seen that much on the board about Topamax, but if you haven't talked to your neuro about it, I'd suggest you do. It's been a WONDER DRUG for me. Now, I know.... it's like everything else - what works for me is NOT going to work for everyone, but guys, it's worth a try if nothing else is working.

Except for some break thru headaches occassionally when I have to take Ercaf, I'm almost headache free at this time. This is something I just don't even know how to cope with. Can you even imagine, sleeping through the night? Making plans in ADVANCE? Going out to dinner and having a drink? 9 months ago I couldn't either, but today I'm actually doing it. Except for an occasional Ercaf I'm OFF every other medication.

Just thought I"d share my success story with you guys. Please let your neuros know about Topamax. Mine said he is having a lot of success with other Chers and migrainers alike with it since he put me on it. If nothing else is working, it might be worth a try. I'm on 300 mg a day (which is higher than most I've heard, but that's what it takes for me).

Anyhow let me know how you guys do on it, if you try it.

Hugs BD
