The only thing I do notice during an episode is a burst of creativity? sensuality? introspection? I really can't put my finger on exactly what emotion I have, but it usually hits me about three days into an episode. I used to think I was just feeling a little flaky from lack of sleep and blubbering relief for the short intermissions from pain. (and that could very well be it) But I've noticed as I get older, I get bursts of creativity during episodes. I also am acutely aware of touch and emotion. I'm not a person who is normally like this, but when I'm pain free I long to be touched and held during an episode (affirmation of life? comfort?) When the episode ends, I go right back to normal.
I could swear I read somewhere that VanGogh suffered from CH or migraines. Could the pain have been his creativity?
(God, that all sounds so NEW AGE, totally unlike me!)
