WOW. I have had candida outbreaks since just prior to developing CH 15 years ago. It comes and gets me every so often, especially after a course of antibiotics (those I now try to avoid at all cost) or if I've been drinking heavily. My last candida outbreak was in 1996/1997 and lasted a year. I thought it was going to kill me that time. I had outbreaks on my feet, behing my knees, in my groin, on my testicles, between my legs, on my arms, under my arms, and right around my neck. I was virtually coated in canisten and talc. Please also note that shrooms are NOT effective against candida!

For those not in the know candida looks and feels a little like athletes foot, ringworm, a sweat rash, thrush, or a yeast infection and it grows virtually anywhere. It actually comes from within the body (I think it's the gut) and external treatments are virtually ineffective. Even if the external treatment puts it away, it tends to come back as soon as you cease the application.

Like Margi said, the only way to get rid of it is through your diet, as I eventually discovered. Things like garlic, chilli, olive oil and bio-yoghurt will soon put paid to it, but it's vital to cease most dairy products, sugar, honey (anything sweet) and alchohol. Avoid yeast at all costs!

Candida can kill! They now believe that the mystery bug that killed one of the archeologists that opened Tutenkamuns tomb may have been candida.

Hope this info helps someone!

Looks like we now have an unholy aliance consisting of:

CH
IBS
MPVS
Candida

Weird huh?
