I get two month long, 4 - 6 CHs a day episodics every 2 years like clockwork. The usual medications (Vicodin, Dread pred, blah, blah, blah)just take the edge off. But, I have had some good experience with finding a really, boring, technical manual and trying to concentrate on reading it (understanding is a different issue.) It helps to take a little more of the edge off.

Of course, screaming as loud as you can into a pillow is really good too. I try to imagine my boss is on the other side...... :)

One other thing, and this sounds as trite as hell, is knowing that they end (at least for a while) is actually quite reassuring (however, it doesn't keep me from crying when the episodes begin.)
