Mike, thanks for the link. I've been very curious about it. I did read the girl's description of her migraine and I'd have to say that they don't sound like mine. In fact much of what she conveys about them is how I define the difference between cluster and migraine. The focus of my h/a's are in the eye. It feels as though a hot, wrought iron poker has been jammed inside the center of my eye. The pain ususally intensifies to the point where my eye feels as though it's simultaneously being forced out of the socket while a poker is being stabbed from outside, or maybe a better way to explain it is that it's as though something is rapidly swelling from within the eyeball and about to explode. I don't notice pain around the temple much, but maybe that's because the eye pain is so severe. I also notice a gland in my throat aches badly. As for the dark room, it doesn't matter where I am, as I am far removed from my surroundings and trapped within the pain. All I can do is move, move, move. Whether I'm pacing in circles or writhing on the floor, I can not be still.
Also, did you happen to click on the clips icon? There is a very short excerpt of the charector coming out of a "migraine" as they explain it. If you watch it, it seems as though he comes out of the pain very quickly. That's something that doesn't happen with my cluster attacks. They build to the peak of pain, and then slowly subside before the next round. Again, thanks for the link Mike. I'll say a prayer for a pain free day for you.
Take Care,
Jackie M.
