I saw the movie. The guy seems to pass out from the headaches or these weird shots he gives himself. You have to realize that this is an "art film" and not only is in black and white but is a very dark film.
His attacks start with his hand trembling...and yes, the headache scenes are intense. At one point he mutters all the meds he has tried...sounded like cluster meds to me but it was hard to follow!
And I get both kinds of headaches, too. Neither are much fun, but nothing tops the intensity of the pain in a CH!
