It seems that for each of us, except for the pain, the headaches themselves occur at different times of the year, different times of the day, last longer or shorter, occur more or less frequently, (for episodics) last different periods of time, and different meds may or may not work for each of us, so too are triggers different.

For me I have not noticed any triggers, although I am not particularly rigorous about tracking these things. I love chocolate way too much to avoid it during an episode, but I'm lucky in that I have never noticed it to trigger a headache. I smoke about 10-15 cigarettes a day and have never noticed that to trigger either. I'm not a heavy drinker, but I do tend to avoid alocohol during an episode; between episodes I can drink and not notice any affect (other than the usual affects of alcohol).

Bottom line, each of us needs to find our own triggers. With help from others we may identify such things. Once we do, then maybe, just maybe, we can break free from the pain, even if it's just for a short while.

Good luck with your search. Pain-free nights and days to you.
