My roommate has suffered from Cluster Headaches as diagnosed by his family doctor since last October. He is currently in his second or third bout with them.
His family doctor has not sent him to a specialist, which surprises me. He's given him imitrex and just last week some type of preventive stuff.
I'm making an appointment for him to see a neurologist next week - this particular neurologist cured my stepfather's clusters by loading him up with every kinda med at one time which apparently blew the circuits that caused them in the first place. His name is Marty White in Charleston, SC. But....I'm not sure what to do for him in the meantime - over the weekend. If I take him to the ER - can they actually do anything? I would appreciate any words of advice, wisdom, comfort - just something. I don't think I was in as much pain when I had a kidney stone stuck in my ureter. I just feel really helpless. Thanks for a response and I truly appreciate this website - not only for existing - it's actually a really well put together place.
