How do emotions and other states of mind occur?
How do they express themselves?
The answer to both is - via physiological pathways.
Thought and emotions are usually not the result of
divine inspiration from extracorporeal sources.
Not too long ago depression, epilepsy, psycosis, etc
were untreatable because we did not know the cause.
We just knew the effect. That is exactly what was
treated...very poorly I must add.
