Hi, Kathi. Are you the same that welcomed me yesterday ?
I have a step-son 19 and a daughter 15, and I have shamed myself
at times with my reactions through the years. Not that I have
been through the EXACT same scene you discribe but close....
Afterwards, having done some soul searching, I have come to realize
that for me my reaction was from fear. Fear of seeing someone I love go through
what I go through. As if by me being the big bad parent, over reacting, I could
some how stop was I thought might be going on. Does that make sence ?
I would always go to my child after such a display,
and try to explain, for what it was worth. To some degree, I think they understood.
I`ve lashed out more times than I can count, but I
know they know I love them. Good luck and dont beat yerself up to badly.
