Sleeplessness with Prednisone and Lithium

I am curently in my 4th week of a cycle. Iam on 80mg of prednisone and900 mg of lithium a day. I sleep no more than 2 hrs a day and it has been taking a toll for quite awhile. Iwas also given zanax and then lorazepam to help me sleep. I am still not sleeping. Should i just ask for some very strong barbituates or what? Also, is this the norm (sleeplessness) when taking prednisone.
