Hi all. I wrote you a month or so ago about my friend who was experiencing all the symptoms for CH. Her headaches are so severe that she's been to the ER twice in the last month or so and for 3 days, she's almost out completely, loses control of bodily functions, etc. etc. Her family doctor prescribed Maxalt as an abortive and to say it simply - it didn't work. She finally went to a neurologist two days ago and the lady said that she didn't have CH, migraines or anything else. Her diagnosis is that since she's a secretary and spends most of her day on the phone, the fact that she holds the phone on her left shoulder and bends her head is causing these headaches. Could this be possible - I can't imagine muscle spasms causing her to have such severe headaches and the way she is so debilitated with them. Any clues guys? He put her on a "nerve damage" medication that she takes at night and a medicine that I believe is an "anti-depressant" to take at the onset of a bad headache. None of this is making sense to me....can this be possible? She did have a CT scan and a MRI and both came back clear - except to show that she did have some nerve damage on her left side....from what they think was caused by her ex-husband slamming her against the wall on several occasions and knocking her out. Would like to hear from you guys and am praying that "muscle strain" is all she has - but sure doesn't make sense to me.
