Last week's TIME brought an attack on calcium channel antagonists (like VERAPAMIL).

Most people take them to lower blood pressure and prevent fatal heart attacks. At an international congress in Amsterdam experts told that there were more heart attacks among users of c.ch.antagonists than among users of other sorts of heart/bp medication.

Now this is about heart diseases. CH-ers use c.ch.ants
for something else and the article didn't say in so many words that the c.ch.ants CAUSED the heart attacks.

But we might expect some reluctance in doctors to prescribe this medication.

Does anybody else have any more information? Ueli? BobP?

Walk in beauty, annemarie
