If you had it done then you'll be sure it's a shot. But if not, there's a chance you're talking about a procedure that I'm probably going to have soon. Is it called a spenopalatine ganglion block? It's not a shot that goes through the skull. It's not even a shot. They stick a long stick with a gauze at the end of it WAY, WAY up your nose against two areas of the trigeminal nerve (judging by the pictures I've seen). It's a block that doesn't penetrate the skull, which is why I'm wondering if that's what you mean.
