Sansert (methysergide) works for some. For others, it is a nightmare almost worse than the headaches.

I am delighted to hear that it worked for you. I wish i could say the same.

I can't even begin to imagine consuming 8 mg daily. I started with 1 mg per day, worked my way up to 2 mg a day despite the weird side-effects, but when I hit 3 mg a day I had to stop.

I am a child of the sixties. In my heyday I munched peyote, gobbled mushrooms, popped orange double-barrel, licked toads. But Sansert threw me for a loop.

I literally could not remember my girlfriend's name. I had tremors, insomnia, numb limbs. I drooled. I walked into doorways. And, I still had major headaches. My guess is that if I had just gritted my teeth and stuck it out, and worked my way up to 8 mg per day, my headaches might have gone away. But by that point I doubt if I would have had the physical coordination to grit my teeth, even if I could have remembered what teeth were and where they were located.

Don't get me wrong... I know that Sansert works wonders for some. But even my neurologist is reluctant to prescribe it. He had me try everything else in his bag of tricks before he prescribed it for me. To him, it is the "medication of last resort".

Having said that... I am glad to hear it worked for you, and I sincerely hope that it works every bit as well when the Beast returns. Just wish I could join you.

*resigned shrug*
