Kids are very smart people. A lot of adults don't give them the credit they deserve for being intelligent. Explain to your neice just what a cluster is and it's affects, she'll understand.
And hang in there, we know they don't last forever, they just seem to. And besides that, you and Terry are usually the only ones to talk to in the middle of the night.
