So many times I've seen Mike come to the point you're at. I hate it for him. I hate it for you.
But please please PLEASE don't make the wrong assumption that you need to keep this pain to yourself and NOT "share" it with someone. There are people out there (here) who have enough compassion and strong enough shoulders to help you carry your load. There is no law that says you must tote this burden by yourself.
K, here's the deal. You've tried a myriad of meds. I remember when you tried Topomax and it worked so well for you for awhile. But the beast got smart, didn't it? So...let's try something different this time. Let's try to fool him again. How about trying something totally different? Shrooms? Water Water Water? I know both treatments probably sound totally hokey to you, but you sure sound like you're at the point that you need a rope. And there's lots of us here to hold the other end, so no fear of falling anymore.
I've seen Mike get so close to giving up and I've seen how miraculous off-the-wall treatments can be and then I've seen the life surge back into him because of it. Kinda like air filling up a balloon.
Joe, it's worth a shot, isn't it? Even if you choose neither 'treatment', try something new. Fake the bastard out. Don't turtle.
I see you posted this in the middle of the night, so I know that that means it woke you up AGAIN. Try Dramamine or Benadryl just to get you through the night. Sleep deprivation is the Beast's best friend. Even if it just gives you ONE night of zzz's, think how much stronger you'll feel in the morning.
How 'bout Oxygen? Are you using that? Ice when you're under attack? We've got lots of weapons in our arsenal - you know that.
And don't forget our shoulders. Wide and waterproof, ok?
Don't forget email - there's always a hand outstretched there too.
Hang in there.
