Hi, Nina,

I think personally that there is a difference between chronic cluster headaches and episodic cluster headaches. I have had chronic cluster headaches for 12 years now, and I can absolutely relate to your letters. I was so encouraged when I found this website, and I can get excited over a new drug or discovery, but as time goes by, it is harder and harder to stay excited for very long. The daily battle is so very hard, and the price we pay when the demon wins is so high. The drugs we take every day for years on end are terrible, too, and deprive us of much of the enjoyment of life. BUT, we must carry on.

Has your doctor had you try high doses of verapamil? How about Topamax?

Hang in there, Nina.

John B
