I cried when I read your message. Partly because
I'm having a bad time of it right now too. And
partly because in some insane way I'm happy to
know that I'm not alone. I'm not insane or just
looking for attention. I spent more years than I
care to remember in Emergency rooms screaming my
head off. I wish I could hug you. I'm taking
Cafergot. It works for me. I found a young
doctor about 7 years ago in an emergency room who
told me that what I was describing sounded like
his father's illness, Cluster Migraines. He said
it was predominantly a man's illness but that he
could see from my charts that they'd tried just
about everything that they could think of. He said
the worst that could happen was that I would throw
it up. I took it and less than 10 minutes later
felt like laughing with relief, instead I fell
asleep for the first time in three weeks for 10
straight hours. I hope you find what works for
you with all my heart. I take it a the first
sign of pain and put hot compresses on my head
till it kicks in. I know how you feel. My life
would fall apart and I frequently felt like giving
up. Hang on, this too shall pass. Don't give up.
