When I'm in a cycle, I take dramamine before going to bed, it prevents me from going into REM stages of sleep (where the demon gets you), and when I wake with a cluster I right away have 2 mugs of hot strong coffee, and I put my hands into hot water while rocking back and forth. It's always took the edge off the intense pain. Also, do you have an oxygen tank? The first couple weeks into my cycle, the O2 aborted the cluster for me within 15 min. at the onset of pain.
