So sorry you're going through this. I can hear the desperation in your post. As some others have said, give the calan a little more time. I know that's not very comforting when you're still having attacks. Lee has been on verapamil (same as calan, I think) for nearly a month, and we really didn't see much effect until 2-3 weeks into it. He's now up to 400 mg. and hasn't had a headache for 5 nights...a first for this cycle. Perhaps your doctor will give you another med for the pain--Lee was given Zomig first. For him it wasn't as effective as the Imitrex, but for others, it has helped. I guess they are both in the same drug family--triptans (sp?). I know someone else suggested ercaf. Lee has used that in a previous cycle and has some relief from it at that time. Whatever treatment you try, I wish you the best. Hang in there. Joy
