This seems to happen from time to time. It saddens me.

I normally ignore these spasms of insanity, but this time it has gone WAY too far. I'll say my piece, and for those who don't like it... well... bite me!

See, I can get away with saying that, because I'm a veteran poster, so I'll have defenders no matter how off-base I get. Not fair for me to be routinely given that leeway, is it? I don't think so either, but that seems to be the way it is.

Ted, Luke is perfectly justified in pointing out that you are WAY out of line in your responses to Daniel. Luke is right. I agree with him one hundred percent.

You are no longer disagreeing with what Daniel is saying, you are taking cheap shots at what he is... or, more accurately, what you BELIEVE him to be. Your comments were racist. Whether he is from South Africa or Mars, whether he is the son of a doctor or the son of a fishmonger, whether he is a teenager or a grandfather... all of this is irrelevant. He either has a treatment of potential interest or he doesn't. Period. Case closed. You are not doing any of us any favors by misrepresenting Dr. Shevel's statements. Neither are you doing any of us any favors by acting like a jerk.

Yes, a jerk. Luke hit the nail on the head.

Daniel has been remarkably restrained and polite in his posts. He has shown way more maturity and class than many who have attacked him. Regardless of whether the treatment he is proposing has any validity, at least he is not acting like he has rabies.

Luke also hit the nail on the head when he said that many regulars attack like a wolfpack. I've just spent an hour reading posts where regular posters are defending the misbehavior of other regulars just BECAUSE they are regulars. Come on folks... step back a pace and do a mental exercise here. Substitute "Joe Newbie" as a name on one of these posts instead of "Mary Manyposts" and tell me you would react the same way. You wouldn't. You'd jump all over them for having the audacity to behave in such a manner, since they hadn't "paid their dues".

Some of us seem to be pretty darn quick to defend "good ole Jim-Bob", or "sweet ole Sadie-Mae" based solely on whatever good deeds they may have been perceived as having done in the past, ignoring blatant evidence that in the current instance they are acting like nasty pre-schoolers.

While I'm on a roll, let me say that the newbies get more slack than returning posters. My advice to those returning after an extended absence is to not even THINK of admitting that you took a break from CH.com while in remission. Apologize abjectly and profusely for your absence and make up some story about your computer being repossessed, or the phone company cutting off your internet service, or getting doing time in jail for stealing from the local church poorbox. You'll be treated more civilly. WHATEVER you do, don't admit that your absence was voluntary. It's much better to post under a different name and pretend it is your first time here.

I am aware that these attacks of "CH.com insanity" come in cycles, as does the beast. I am confident that this current bout of idiocy will abate, as other bouts have done in the past. It can't be too soon for me. The board is a pretty shitty place to hang out these days.

Come on guys. Cut this nonsense out. It sucks. It really sucks. Big time.
