I think that there is a direct link to sinus and CH episodes. I have two theories, my " aura " for the episodes is a pain or distant discomfort in the sinus on the right side of my head and around my right eye. Just prior to the attack there is additional swelling and stuffiness in my right nostril and sinus cavities. This swelling and stuffiness continues throughout the duration of the episode period. ( several days to weeks or months )
Does the sinus cause the attack or does the attack cause the sinus to swell and bring on addtional subsequent attacks ? sort of like a snowball effect or a series of " hicups ".
If I clear my nasal passages with a sinus spray
it sometimes prevents the attack.
Why is Lidocain sometimes effective as a nasal drop ? Why is Imitrex in a nasal application ?
When the episode period passes my sinus are clear.
I would like to hear some comments .
