I went to a good neurologist years ago and asked him how to deal with the pain when the preventive drugs don't work. He said do what ever you have to do. you don't have to suffer through it. The hard part is finding a doctor who agrees. My cycles last about a month every night from three to five hours and I can't take it without narcotics to deaden the pain since nothing else works. But I'm lucky to have a compassionate doctor and also that I don't have CHs as much as I used to. You have a right not to experience that kind of pain!
