I'll be brief and to the point. Get rid of the sancert, it is dangerous as hell. If it stops them for you, (COMPLETELY) then maybe....you can stick with it, it didn't work for me and do some checking on it's side affects bad news drug in my opinion. Nothing works every time, as soon as you find a drug to stop the pain, the next time you use it, it won't work. Statdol is excellent, I can pretty much control my daytime CH, but waking up with them is the problem. Staydol is fast! also, Fiortal/codine can get you three hours of sleep (during a cycle three hours is God sent) Cold air works as well (if you are awake to feel one coming on) Oxygen is the same way, has to be used BEFORE the CH gets it's hold. I stop my cycles short with a shot of Demerol during an attack. Just getting a shot of Demerol won't work, it has to be given while you are in so much pain you want to die. If this can take place for you, the cycle will dissipate sooner. You will still get the damn things, but they will begin to slow down from that point forward.
Keep a wash cloth in the refrigerator in a bowl of water to put over your eyes while waiting for the drugs to get into your system, it helps to some degree....no colder than 34 degrees, freezing temps hurt more.
I have tried every thing there is for these things, for 12 years now, they started when I was 24, my sister is now 25, and she has then now too. We are doomed for some unknown reason, but it makes us tough, cutting off an arm with a hack saw doesn't hurt as much as a CH. Good luck my friend, anything I can do to help E me!
