ch... or not ch?

hello there. i've had a history of mild headaches since i was about 16 - now i'm almost 21. However, this year the pains have increased dramatically.

Although i've never really suffered from severe, lasting pain around the eye or the head, when the headache comes on, my right eye tends to be sore, and pain moves around the right side of my head. Now, i can deal with the pain - it's never crippling. But at the same time, i feel tremendously dizzy. It feels, with every step i take, that the ground is moving, or buckling, underfoot. I never fall over, but often have to support myself when standing still. It's almost like the initial effects you suffer after drinking a few beers... that sort of light headed-ness.

Normally the pain comes on with a sharp jab, as if someone has just struck me in the back of the head. It lasts for a few hours, and tends to occur most often during the evening, after 7pm, and lasts until i fall asleep.
Its worth noting it appears drinking just a little wine/alcohol can induce the pain very quickly...
It's taken 3 years with my current GP for him to slowly realise i may suffer from ch's. He has now put me on Tegretol (100mg).
What i wanted to know was if my symptoms are similar to those ch sufferers have. As a kid, i was hit on the head so many times during so many accidents (hockey, building accidents etc.) and always came though with no real injury, but sometimes i feel they may have caused something which is now coming to bear on me via these pains.
Any ideas? Advice? Are these ch's or not? Your opinions and advice on medicine are most needed. If not to finally work out what this dizziness is...

Thanks very much.
