I have just been diagnosed with CH, but there is 1 facet that doesn't fit the pattern. My headaches are always one sided, steady, w/ some tearing of the eye on the effected side. The pain is severe. They almost always come around 4-5 am. What doesn't fit is that they almost always last about 11-12 hours. I will have them 1x a wk or so for a few weeks and then can go a few mos., thank god, without one. I sometimes do throw up. Is the fact that they last longer than the typical 45 min to 5hrs mean my dr. may be wrong? I am not asking for medical advice, just some thoughts from those of you out there who may have some insight. I haven't read all the messages yet, but what I have read is very helpful. I have also noticed that when I get over one of the headaches, I am almost in denial about it- I just want to move on and pretend it didn't happen. I put off seeking help for almost 10 years. Typical?
