I am a 64 year male, suffering during 7 years cluster headaches. The last two years I was not able to control the pain with the usual prescriptions: Dexamethasone, Verapamil and Ergotamin. Once the pain was on, the only treatment was inhalations of pure oxigen, up to 8 lts/min. for 5 to 20 minutes. In october 2000, a Dr. prescribed 100 mg. of Tegretol daily. After using it for 26 days, a release of the pain started to show. After this time, I combined this treatment with Vioxx, 2 pills of 25 mg per days during the first 5 days, and one pill of 25 mg, afterwards. At the end of the 5 day period, the pain disappeared. Since that time, four and a half months,thanks to God, I have been able to return to my normal life, eating and drinking almost any thing, without recurrence of the pain.
