High fevers can cause hallucinations type feelings and play with your mind... I don't think you are going nuts...LOL... Just lack of sleep and flu... Be careful with the mixing of over the counter flu and cold meds with prescriptions meds.. especially tylenol..can make your ears ring etc if you get to much of that stuff in your system...
Drink lots of fluids, popcycles, jello etc...small sips at a time...but regularly...
I don't know that I have told you anything you don't already know...LOL But get better soon.. Seems like all of us are pooping out slowly here with one thing or another..LOL...
