For those who are interested, the high is absolutely fantastic. I use it purely for recreational purposes but i can really see how this drug could be a life saver to those who are in chronic pain. About the only side effects i've experience are Constipation (one time it got REALLY bad, take gentle laxatives with it), mild nausea from taking a bit too much (not like throwing up is very uncomfortable while you're high anyway), and loss of sex drive (may sound funny but it's kinda bad).
The nausea's easy to explain. It's like any other drug, take too much and you feel dizzy and sick. About the constipation, i have a new respect for laxatives and suppositories. I never knew how serious constipation could get. And the lack of sex drive is a more serious problem than you would think (especially with oxy contin vs codone). I wasn't able to do anything sexually both with a partner or by myself while on the drug. And since the contin lasts so long, you'd literally have to stop taking it for about 48 hours before your "muscle" functions come back (talking about inner functions, not errections).
Lastly i can't stress enough how bad the withdrawl is. It feels like you've got a really bad flu, and you're seriously depressed and anxious at the same time. (like the bed scene in trainspotting) :)
