As I stated before Narc's etc are not for everyone...But with the right drugs and proper doseages they do and can work....

Again this goes back to education on the doc's part...#1 they fear addiction in patients with chronic intractable pain...that is due to uneducation in the medical field on how to treat chronic pain...#2. they fear that prescribing these drugs could cost them their licenses..etc...

Again I will state that Chronic Intractable pain is and can be appropriately treated with narc's and opioids etc... without the fear of addiction..Yes their is a body dependency on the drug but with careful monitoring and honesty and trust with your doctor...if the time comes to go off the meds this can be done with the minimum of side effect by slowly tapering the dosages...

I have been on fentynol (duragesic Patches) since 1998 steady along with vicoin high potency and demerol after that...and i don't have any craving for the meds...In fact I forget to take them and forget to change my patches because I am not having pain...sometimes up to a week...and it is only after having severe pain that I realize that i didn't take the medicines...I have also quit the patches during this time and went to just oral vicodin...problem with that was it wasn't strong enough to keep my at a functional human..so I did go back on...and have recently increased the dosage on the duragesic to the next level...

Educate yourself....that is the bottom line... I am in no way pushing this on anyone this is just my opinion and experience and I hope that it will be taken as such and nothing more...

I just think it is time for this to become on open option for people rather than the "closet issue" that it has been...and over time maybe it will be accepted... I don't know... but it is all a matter of the right drug and the right dosages...without that it won't be affective..
Thank you for letting me share my view...
Jackie L..
