I, too, have those 5-30 second pains. I get them 20 times a week to 20 times a day somewhere, anywhere, on my head. I say it's a little man in my head with an ice pick (Because the pain goes from the inside out). Since I have MS, I don't know if it is MS related or not.
Just push a finger on the effected spot for the duration and work thru it. I do not see where any drug could help this, unless there is a blockage in the nerve shafts. Try to see a nuerologist and see what he says.
I count myself lucky because my husband has clusters. I'm glad it's not me, because his are a 1000 time worse, 4-6 times a day lasting 10 mins. to an hour, EVERY DAY. He is one of the 10% that do not have any pain-free time.
