that when methadone is discussed for one as an alternative treatment that alot of times people are really not aware of what it is truly like to be addicted to methadone. Because I do work in the addiction field as a nurse and detox people from this drug, I see the horror of the withdrawals. I see people go thru withdrawals that last for weeks, not days, but weeks. This is an awfully big price to pay for relief with all the other medications on the market for clusterheadaches. And alot of people talk about methadone and realize it is addictive but they have no idea of the withdrawals associated with it until they see it for themselves or experience it. I know everyone has the right to discuss whatever they want to on this board but I also feel I have the right to describe the withdrawals and the horror stories I see everyday from this drug in particular...In fact, anyone that may be considering going on this drug, I will be glad to have some of my patients write some real life experiences on the withdrawals for you if you are interested. I just want all the cards to be put on the table if we are going to discuss opiates. Let's not just discuss the benefits but let's discuss the end results too. smiles, nancyc
