I know what you mean, but from the other side of the equation.
I've had CHs for most of my adult life so can empathise with J as well as you. I know what it feels like when the demon visits. I know what it means to loath the return of the demon, and I know I wouldn't be able to do it without my wife Pam.
Just be there MJ, don't crowd, try not to show your distress, just be there, because it means more to J than J can show at the time.
Regarding J's comments after puking the meds - please don't take them to heart, to my everlasting shame I've been horrible to Pam in the throws of an attack and I deeply regret it. It's not you, it's not J, it's the pain and utter despair.
MJ you are not clueless,you are not worthless,you help us through it and that makes a huge difference.
Have a good look at the info on the website and encourage J to do so as well, even when J is in remission.
In the meantime ask for a neuro referral, family doctors know all about stomach bugs etc and bugger all about clusters!
You make a difference MJ, never doubt it.
