Dear Mike, I just love that, when you are standing (or trying to) at work, and the boss/co-workers are looking at you as if they hope they don't catch it? Especially when all you can think, if thinking is possible, that it is a miracle that you got there in the first place, much less finish the day, and you are hanging on by a thin, frayed, painkiller thread, just praying you can get home without driving off the road and get prone for an hour of escape! I want to get a tshirt that says "no, it's not JUST a headache!" Okay, that was a r e a l l y long sentence, but the spirit moved me. I am glad you are seeing a neuro. Good luck with the payment plan. Make sure you get to Kinko's or your local library, and make copies (or ask the doctor) of the LOA letter and ask for a copy of the visit notes once transcribed. If you don't document, it makes it much much harder later. Also, check your employee handbook for the policies on disability and LOA and probationary period. I wonder if you have an OSHA or type of union rep that you could ask about your rights. I don't think that you can be blamed during your probation period if they sent YOU home. Please post back and keep in touch. Love to all sufferers, and PFLives!
