The pain specialist that I am seeing is not for the CH. It is for a severe spinal injury that I had on 4-22-00.
I had 2 cervical ruptures in c-5 &c-6 also c-6 and c-7, as well as t-5 and t-6.
I had one surgery with a neck fusion on Nov. 9, 2000. and was scheduled for thoracic surgery in May 2001 but was called off because on a non-specific abnormality in my EKG. I have Hypertention as well as type 2 diabetes. The pain in the cervical area that was not operatedon is intense aswell as the thoracic area. I have been on Vicodin, soma, valium, meprobamatefor over a year now. I take bulalbital for the HA's. the other pain medswere for the spinal injuries.
My doc says I am no longer a good surgical candidate and has referred me o a pain doc. they beleive that i have become tolerant of what I am taking now and need to go yo level II meds. they may take me off of my headache meds because of the strength of the other meds i may be on. My 1st appt is on Monday. The meds are for me not being able to get out of bed without help, out of chairs and severe chronic pain other than headaches.I am not an abuser. I take as prescribed, but I feel it is my right not to live in agony for the rest of my life. I am sorry this is so long, but I wanted to make this clear what is going on. basically I need 2 more spinal surgeries, but the say no.
Many PFDAN to you all
harold
