I would start drinking lots of water and breathing deeply around 6pm (and not let up on the breathing unless I get light-headed). I've headed off (or, at the very least, ameliorated) many an attack this way, but it might not work for you. Moreover, it's hard to keep up with the breathing, because it's easy to forget to do.

By the way, the thing about it hitting when you relax is all too familiar. I had a high stress job (I'm retired now) and never, ever got hit when the pressure was on, but when I would try to recover from the toils of the day, BAM!!!
