Sorry to hear about your bad experience at the ER. Please know that all ER nurses are not like that, some of us really do understand. Also, nurses are not instructed in most schools about the various types of headaches, so that puts them at a disadvantage as far as CH is concerned. I do agree with ADame about carrying a script or letter from your neuro/PCP on his/her letterhead. Believe it or not,it really does make a difference. If I didn't know anything about CH and someone handed me this at triage,I would take it seriously- No joke.I really appreciate those folks I triage that are educated about their conditions whether it is CH or anything else.
