While I agree personally with some of what you say, we have to bear these things in context. While I think excessive profanity is unnecessary, I would draw a line between "my fucking head hurts" and "fuck you". The first is descriptive, the second insulting.

I have learnt over several years here to try and read what is actually meant, rather than the way it is said. The difficulty is the huge variety in the people that come here, and learning to tolerate each other is very important.

As an example, I would far rather read a post which is spelt correctly and is grammatically correct, yet which may contain some strong language, than one which is pure in language but incompetent in English.

We are all different.

Anyway, who defines profane? Do we include blasphemy, and if so, which religions....

Can of worms time, I think.
