I visited a new neuro last April to lay the groundwork for my impending cluster. He gave me a bunch of Triptan samlpes, Imitrex, Zomig, Amerge, Maxalt. Told me that when the cluster started, I should try them all and then call for a prescription for the one I wanted.

I called twice on Monday, 3 times on Tuesday and also barged into his office in person on Tuesday. Result - I was give 4 more samples and an appointment for Monday. That's 4 samples for 6 days!

I've also been working on getting an O2 prescription filled which the neuro wrote back in April. I called his office this morning to ask that they mark the insurance pre-approval form 'urgent'. They told me they wouldn't let me fill it till my Monday appointment.

Luckily I've done an end run with my GP and he has prescribed O2 and Imitrex injections and called the insurance company for approval so I can get them today.

I'm absoultely floored by the fact that a neurologist would tell a cluster sufferer to go a week with no meds and just blow them off. I've drafted letters to both the insurance company and American Academy of Neurology, protesting the doctors failure to provide treatment.

BTW - yes this post also means that I haven't been successful with the shrooms. I dosed last Saturday and again yesterday. I hadn't lived a Kip 10 for 2 years 8 months, til last night. Like Phil DeYoung once said, "Sweet Jesus!"
