My brother works for Pfizer & told me about this new medication. Found this information on the Pfizer website: A supplemental application for the use of Neurontin in the management of neuropathic pain was filed with the FDA. Neurontin is the world's top-selling anticonvulsant drug for use in adjunctive therapy for epilepsy. In world markets where use for neuropathic pain is approved, Neurontin is experiencing a growth rate of 55%. (3rd qtr 2001 Earnings Report) Relpax, for the treatment of migraine headache, received an approvable letter from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) late last year, he said. "Clinical data show that within one hour of taking an oral dose of Relpax, up to 40 percent of patients with moderate or severe migraine experience significant or complete headache relief," Dr. Niblack said "Many see relief within 30 minutes." The company is about to file new data and analyses called for by FDA in the approvable letter, and expects to engage in final discussions over labeling in the Summer. (Annual Shareholders meeting - April 2000) Relpax isn't available in the US yet - has anyone abroad used it? Does it work? As for Neurontin, it appears that it is already being used relatively successfully for neurological pain. Hope this is useful information. Elizabeth
